I've just gone through the Kindle version of Food Storage: Preserving Fruits, Nuts, and Seeds, and I'm looking forward to the print version.This book is set up much like Susan's and David's earlier co-creation, Food Storage: Preserving Meat, Dairy, and Eggs. That is, rather than listing preservation methods, they have the book organized by the fruit, followed by the different preservation methods for that particular fruit. That makes my job so much easier, because that's the way I think. When I set out to preserve something, it's because I have a bunch of apples, or blackberries, or pears, and I need to know what I can do with that specific fruit. With Susan's and David's book, I don't have to flip back and forth looking at all the different methods of preserving fruit in general. All the information for the one item I'm preserving is in one place.And there is a lot of information (preservation methods) for each item listed, sprinkled with Susan's and David's personal experiences.They deviate just slightly from this organization method when it comes to nuts and seeds. Rather than listing each nut and each seed individually (followed by preservation methods), nuts and seeds are taken as a whole, with preservation methods described in detail. There is more that can be done with nuts and seeds than I ever knew, and I look forward to trying my hand at canning our hazelnuts this autumn.Besides the knowledge and organization that went into this book, I appreciate the personal feel of Susan's and David's writing. It's like having them there, talking me through the process. While I have not personally met either author, I am familiar with both through online forums, and I know they both walk the walk. Food preservation is part of their daily lives, and they know what they talk about.Like Food Storage: Preserving Meat, Dairy, and Eggs, this book is not a hefty tome. But it is packed with information all the same. And when my print version arrives, it will slide easily into a spot in my kitchen, next to their other book, as a quick, go-to resource. The value is unbeatable.I honestly can't wait to see what these two come up with next.

well written, clear instructions and great ideas, so I have it in my go to reference books. I really appreciated the conversational tone of the book that followed the real life experiences of what worked and what...well, didn't work quite as well as they expected. Easy to learn and remember from their mistakes in order to avoid repeating and wasting your supplies and /or money. It is thin and easily fits into a bug out bag.

Excellent book. Covered alot of ground. It is a good companion book with others I have.

First of all, I expect *some* level of professionalism from a self-help book. This book has a ton of spelling, grammar, and formatting errors. It also has a lot of self-promotion for other books by the author. Combined with the errors, the whole thing feels like a sloppy way to self-promote.Most of the book is very basic and repetitive, and feels more like a pep talk than detailed help. Maybe half the advice is about parties - dear author, there are other things in life (especially for introverts!) than parties.The coverage of topics is hit-and-miss. The author spends a lot of time talking about how to feel more comfortable with parties, but rushes through the idea of deliberate practice - a concept vastly wider and more useful than how to do chit-chat at parties, which gets about the same page count.The only upside is the brevity; this book is an OK intro, but just about all the material has been better covered elsewhere.

I've read quite a few books on introversion, which is to say I've plowed through a lot of pyschobabble without finding much practical advice. This book provides that advice. It's not easy being an introvert in a world geared for extroverts, but this book has some good suggestions for improving your outlook.

I enjoyed this book very much and learned a lot about myself. I've always known I was different but though there was something wrong with me. Learning that it's not my mental state but how I'm made is a big relief to me. Thank you!

Thibaut delivers some welcome information. Lifelong experience (way more than 2 or 3 decades) has resulted in my awareness that some of my introvert qualities can be useful. To consider them strengths, as he suggests, well... never thought of it that way. But he has a point. Per Thibaut, an introvert’s strong focus (at times, better adjectives might be passionate or obsessive) lends itself to success and strong performance when one is confronted by complex problems. Very true. My happiest memories and most of my business successes have come about through strong focus, and as he mentions, the capacity and pleasure in thinking “deep”.Otherwise, while other qualities of introversion leave us introverts at times perplexed about our seemingly “square peg” reactions (lack of enthusiasm, if not outright aversion) to “round hole” situations (everybody loves a party, right? No! Speaking in public...No! No! No!), per Thibaut, one should realize that such is normal for introverts, something to be taken into account and accepted.He also notes that while popular thought is that extraversion is the norm for the human personality, and also, a preferred quality, in fact, introverted and extraverted personalities are distributed 50/50 within the human population. Thus, introversion is normal, which leads Mr. Thibaut’s to essentially provide the following advice to introverts: “Work with it, baby!” (Pardon my paraphrase.)He stresses that introvert qualities of themselves should be valued, as they benefit both the introvert and society.Thibaut rounds out his book by presenting guidance on how introverts might come round to understanding, valuing, and enjoying their own inherent nature. (He first assures us we cannot train ourselves into being extraverts, so fellow introverts, a lot of us have been wasting our time...) He also covers how the introvert might avoid conflicts and collisions that are possible when dealing with extraverts or other introverts, within familial, friend, and work domains.Overall, this is a practical book, light in touch and encouraging. While its conceptual framework regarding introversion might be found, with time, to NOT be totally, dead-on accurate, it does successfully argue that introversion can be seen as a gift, something to prize in oneself, rather than a curse.

As an Introvert myself a lot of what was said in this book really hit home for me. I kept reading with approval as if the writer personally knew me. We introverts do not have to apologies for being introverted and should accept and embrace who we are.

Reading a story in this book about a professor's experience as an introvert was so relatable to my own. I felt excited to further understand my behavior. I took many notes.

The book doesn't really do much discussing of building production. Most of it is him waxing poetic about colorful neighbors, trash, and homeless living near his home. The name makes it seem like a book about vernacular design and creativity in the built environment will be in there, but a sad percentage is.

The author has perfectly captured LA. A must for anyone wanting an inside look at the true nature of Los Angeles by an someone who knows the language.

Unfortunately, I didn't read the first review. I should have saved my money. I learned more from the Branson website than I did from this book. Empty pages abound and most pages are only filled with about a paragraph. There are no details about specific things to do at Silver Dollar City or anywhere else. I read it in about twenty minutes. Definitely save your money and visit the Branson tourism website instead. Much more thorough information can be found there.

Terrible book. Period. It is basically someone's thought blog and I can't believe it was actually published. A lot of blank pages and useless quotes. One section in particular lists 3 best places to eat. It only listed 2 restaurants and one of them was Cici's pizza. Are you kidding me? A crappy chain pizza buffet is the best place to eat in Branson? She didn't even fact check the price. She said she believed it was about $8. This book is a joke! Can't have too many exclamation points! The book is filled with them.

Do not buy this book. The information is trite. There are 60 pages and the biggest part of the pages is white space. There is so little information given that I really feel ripped off to have spent $11.97.

This is without doubt the most important photographic book to be published in many years. Cardozo is the ultimate curator and his book an illuminating gift to this and future generations. Each of the essays by several world class notable scholar/artists is immensely helpful.I was especially moved by Dr. Michael Charles Tobias' crisp, brilliantly insightful essay on Curtis as the veritable father of America's environmental social justice movement. I have never heard that articulated before. And, once stated, it becomes absolutely obvious. No wonder Curtis initially meant to title his massive oeuvre (The North American Indian, instead, The Vanishing Race). That poignancy strikes at the heart of the ecological ethics upon which Tobias masterfully elaborates in the context of the Constitution and legislative initiatives to liberate African Americans and Native Americans before, during and after the life and death of President Lincoln. Moreover, Tobias' statement that Curtis was the "Rembrandt van Rijn of Native American portrait photography" truly chimed with my own sense of Curtis' genius. Says Tobias in the book, "Like Rembrandt, whose courage emerged as he himself aged and was resolved to show what it was like to be a real human being, Curtis photographed the reality of Native American life." This says it all, and comports beautifully with Cardozo's Introduction in which he notes, "It is not unprecedented, whether in this country or internationally, to see people at exhibitions moved to tears while looking at his [Curtis'] photographs."With wonderful additional essays by A.D.Coleman, Louise Erdrich and Eric J. This is an amazing compilation of Curtis' works...Some of his very finest. I have looked a long time for such a book, consolidated with absolute authenticity and genuine respect for his work. Christopher Cardozo has achieved a masterpiece book and I cannot thank him enough for his obvious, "labor of love" in putting it together.
