First I want say I had been having major withdrawals from having finished The Matefinder series. So when I woke up on July 1st which happened to be the release date and my birthday. Needless to say it was crazy around due to that the 4th of July. So when I was finally able to sit back and start Keeper(Matefinder Next Generation book 1) I was in my happy place. From the first few pages I was started to have a connection with Anya and her jokester twin brother protector Jaxon. I don't want to ruin the experience of reading the book with out spoilers because I know how much I enjoyed falls in love with many new characters and old from The Matefinder series. So excited and sad at the same time that I finished reading Keeper now I have to wait for the next installment of Matefinder Next Generation Book 2. So I want to leave with saying if you loved the Matefinder Series you'll love this one so pick up your copy today!
This book was a very good book. I loved that Leia Stone continued the story of the Matefinder and the lives of the characters we met in the Matefinder Series and have grown to love. I loved the character Anya. She is such a strong, funny, interesting character. I also love Jax, he is extremely hilarious and such a loveable character. I wish we got to see more of her friends, they seemed to be very interesting. I also really loved to get to see Kai and Aurora again in this book. It’s so interesting to see these strong characters in a different light as parents. I would love for one of the books to take place while one of the characters have young children so that we can have a better look into what life as a young wolf cub would be like.Overall, I really loved this book like I love the previous Matefinder Series. Leia Stone really knows how to write. I fall in love with every book that I read that she is a part of. I really hope you all would give this book a shot. And if you haven’t read the Materfinder Series, go check it out. It is true that you can read this book on its own, but reading the Matefinder Series is better at understanding some of the facts about this world and you get a better feeling in what Aurora and Kai are like before they had children. This book is amazing and you would not regret reading it, I promise.
An expansion's story on Materfinder. Keeper follows Anya and Jaxon. While Matefinders focus was on werewolves and vampires, Keeper seems to be more focused on the spirit realm. I like Keeper, but I expected more. Maybe I became to invested into Auroras and Kai' s relationship that I was hoping they would be the focus....My own wishing. They are intertwined into the story and they feel like the characters you've already come to love so that's a major plus ( nothing worse than reading a book with characters you already know and them feeling like they are not themselves) While Matefinder left it clearly open for a spin off, I did notice some of the storyline seems repetitive but also at the same time just slightly different. I did find some parts to be intriguing and I wish the story would have had more of an ending. It felt incomplete and unfinished even though I already developed that it would be ending with a cliffhanger. I would love to see how this story unfolds.** Update the release date has been set for Oct 2017.
Excellent continuation to an already completed story. I just loved how the author switched it up but still gives us some of what we should expect.I loved that Aurora and Gavin switched roles and like her mother, she will be a key player in the future but not her expected "destiny" of finding mated pairs but now to save her pack and all other wolf packs out there even though she is now a bear lol...I look forward to seeing the dynamic between Gavin and Nahuel play out in some way.I expect great things from the next installment.All in all an excellent read.
I found the story somewhat insipid.Anya, 20 years old, destined to be a matefinder like her mother when she is mature enough to get her own first vision, feels she is a bit too young to find her destined mate. However she does start having visions of him, they meet and then learn that he and she will probably die by the next full moon.Unless....We meet an evil Skin Walker, some shamans, and we realize there is going to be a war between the weres and the humans when the book ends.
Aurora had twins. Her daughter is the new mate finder. What will happen when Anya finds her true mate and realized he may die before they ever start their life together. I thought this book may be corny since its an extension of the Mate finder series. Its not, we still are apart of Kai and Auroras pack, we are now following the story of a world on the bring of disaster where Anya has to make difficult choices to ensure her and her mates survival against all odds while trying to save those she most loves!
I fell in love with the Matefinder series so I was doubly excited to read about the next generation. Leia tells a tale that keeps you captivated and needing to read the book in one setting.I love reading about Aurora and Kai's daughter. She's a twin. I loved reading about Anya and Jax and the great relationship that they have as brother and sister.Anya meets Gavin. They have a crazy ride together and it's fascinating and wonderful and I look forward to more in this series.
I loved the first matefinder books, and was super excited for the next generation ones. I was very curious how she was going to write it to make it different from the original books but still keep with the family (pack) of wolves from the first ones. Omg!! She succeeded, gave us a lot of twists and turns, but so kept true to the older characters and gave us new ones to fall in love with. I would recommend reading the matefinder series before this book, just because wow it's great, but you really don't have to either Leia does a great job of recapping what happened in them. Awesome read.. can't wait for the next book!!!
